Who is Steve Jackson?

Dr. Steven A. Jackson is the founding pastor of  NewSong Community Church and Creekside United Methodist Church, both in Cumming, GA. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia (BBA 78), Candler School of Theology at Emory University (M.Div 94) and Asbury Theological Seminary (D.Min. 2005). Prior to becoming a pastor Steve worked in the business world in both real estate and insurance for fifteen years. In 2010 Steve spent three months at the Northern Ghana Baptist Theological Seminary in Tamale, Ghana where he taught Christian Ethics and Christian Family Living. 

Steve has been employed at INCO Services, Inc., an industrial construction firm, since 2011. 

Steve grew up as a "military brat" and lived has lived many places including San Juan, P.R., Jackson, MS, Ft. Leavenworth, KS, Prentiss, MS (twice), Bellevue, NE, Frankfurt Germany, Fayetteville, NC., East Point, GA, and Athens, GA. 


Steve currently lives in Cumming, GA with his beautiful wife Donna a retired school teacher. The Jacksons have two grown children, Amy graduated from Berry College and then Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA. Amy lives in Florida with her husband John Halley; the Halleys have two sons, Zach and Mac. Leigh Harper is the Jackson's youngest daughter. Leigh also graduated from Berry and is married to John Harper. Leigh and John live in Loganville, GA and have two daughters, Olivia and Sam.
